Why Nozzles Are Replaced
Over time the nozzle seat and needle erode from abrasive particles and water carried in the fuel. The result is a wider spray pattern, uneven delivery between cylinders and a visible change in exhaust smoke. Because the nozzle sits at the very end of the fuel path, it also takes the brunt of any contamination that gets past the filter.
Fitting Notes
- Confirm the number stamped on the original nozzle before ordering; G4 type nozzles are not interchangeable across injector families.
- Clean the injector body and replace the copper washer and O-rings at the same time.
- Recode the injector after fitting where the engine management requires it.
