Why XPI Injectors Are Replaced
The pumping element and nozzle wear against their seats with every injection event. As they wear, the injected quantity drifts and the ECU compensates until the correction limit is reached. Operators notice hard starting, a rough idle, falling power and smoke, and the fault is often accompanied by a cylinder-balance code.
