Why HEUI Injectors Are Replaced

On a HEUI injector the oil side and the fuel side both wear. The intensifier piston and the nozzle seat degrade with running hours, so the injected quantity drifts from the value the ECU expects. Operators notice hard starting, a rough idle, falling power and smoke, and the ECU eventually stores a correction-limit fault.
