Why Unit Injectors Are Replaced
On the DC12 the unit injector works at high pressure and a heavy duty cycle. The control valve and nozzle wear over time, so the injected quantity drifts from the value the ECU expects. Drivers notice hard starting, a rough idle, falling power and black smoke, and the ECU eventually stores a correction-limit fault.
